Sweet Pea & Clover

Today *Sweet Pea & Clover* got it's first coat of paint and then a few decorator pieces added to figure out what the "look" will be.
OMG, I hope the furniture isn't sticking to the floor because I put it in before the paint was dry.
I do dumb things like that!

She's a kitchen/dining area....

It's going to be my only kitchen, I mean come on, how many kitchens do you need?

I keep moving things around from house to house trying to figure out "what's going on"..... I'm thinking I'm finally getting the picture.

I finally know this is how it's going to be "for now".  See, I really don't know.  Moving and changing is my *MO* in the little world and the big world.

I'm looking forward to gathering all my kitchen minis, new goodies, that I'm sure I'll make and buy to complete the look.

Here's the outside front... not much yet...still thinking!

Inside....no, the stove won't live up in that storage area.  I don't know what will be up there, must think!

Painted the entire inside and out white..
.not sure how I'm going to decorate, I figured if I gave it a coat of white paint, that would take me some direction.
Maybe Shabby Chic????

The floor is getting a faux finish...maybe a tile look????  Who knows!
Depends on my mood the day I do that project.

This of course is the eating area.... pull up a chair and park your butt!
Let's EAT!

This is my favorite part of the kitchen, so far.... I'm just in love with the hutch look against the wall paper......SWOON!

There will be upper cabinets....duh!  And, lot's more accessories.
Wait till you see how cute the pot rack is going to look with the copper pots and pans..... too cute.

Yes, I stole them from the other kitchen, I did......

Remember, I'm only going to have one kitchen in my mini world..... the last kitchen I made will be converted to a child's room....someday!!!

I'm trying to make sense of my dollhouses.... I was spreading things to thin... this way I'll have all my favorites in one room.

Much better idea!

I'm so smitten with this wallpaper....the blue and pink makes my heart sing.

I have other wallpapers that I want to incorporate into the cabinets.... more work!

The little "chandy" turned out so sweet...more pink and blue.  It doesn't light up... but, it lights up my mini world just looking at it.
Awwwwwwww

It's just a start.... there is so much more to design and complete, but so far, I'm a happy girl.
It's turning out just as I hoped it would.

So far..... So good!

Hope you enjoyed the tour of my latest creation....
keep watching.....
there is so much more to come!

Have a lovely week.

A camera bag for Paris!

It's been awhile since I've posted...time flies when life is in charge, doesn't it?

No minis today....
all about camera bags.

We are going to Paris in a couple of months and my camera situation is not up to par!

With that said, I decided to make my own...design it like *I* want it....all because I couldn't find anything that would suit my fancy.

I've carted my big black Nikon, in a non-case situation, for way too long.

The bags are either too big, too bulky, wrong color, wrong fabric....well, you get the picture.

My daughter dug threw her old purses and voila.... she had one that I could dismantle....deconstruct... cut up...and, throw away if it didn't work.

Dummy here didn't take any pictures of the procedure.. didn't think I would be sharing, but..............it turned out so darn cute that I thought "I have a new post".

It's not finished, still needs it's innards designed and some sewing done on the outside and strap.

I am so excited at how it's turning out, I just had to share before finishing.

I say: this is a...re purpose, reuse, recycle, smart looking, fashion forward camera bag.
It sure beats that big old ugly black manly thing, doesn't it?
Tiny, girly and oh so chic!
Yet, comfy, cozy and well worn!

It can be a cross over, a shoulder holder or a hand held bag.

I don't think there is anything worse than dragging a big camera around on vacation... this is filling the bill.

Happy Dance.

The top opens up as wide as the bottom so it slides in like a dream. Plus, this outside pocket will hold any little (light) items I might need.

Wish I had a before picture, it's about half the size it was originally.

All the little straps and buckles...perfectly perfect.

I think I'll fit right into the Paris scene, don't you?

Beats having that big camera hanging around my neck looking like a tourist.  hehehe

EVERYONE HAVE A WONDERFUL LOVE FILLED FATHERS DAY!

Mini Storybook REDO....oh no!

Call me crazy...or not....but, I HAD to redo Storybook!

I have trouble with colors...bright colors, as pretty as they are, they can make me nervous.

I tried so hard to keep it colorful and cheery...but, I need calm and serene.

I tried to live with the sweetness of Storybook  but, my thoughts just kept saying ..redo...redo...redo!

So, I painted out all the colors to soft white...
whew...much better!

And, painted all the little minis that stood still...
that would be most of them.

All I could think about was French, French, French!

Here is my take on a French country cottage for Storybook.

Oh yeah, there is still way more to do, but at last she found her way home.

The floors got whitewashed too!

I have a collection of vintage postcards...they make perfect mini pictures with their sepia/black and white tones.

When I first built Storybook, I put a window on each wall....WRONG!  Too many windows, couldn't put in a fireplace or any tall furniture.  Lesson learned!!

I covered the window up from the inside, but it still looks like there is a window in place from the outside.
Now, I could add a fireplace.

New lace curtains giving the room softness...

Pillows, needs MORE pillows.  Boy, am I glad I didn't make all my squishy salt pillows in bright colors...
And, books...it needs lots and lots of books...

Care for a cup of tea?

Doesn't every house need a banner?

Bucket of papers.

A little wall hanging made from scrapbook paper, matches the banner.

More greenery....

and....
the roof is finished!
There is no chimney, we must pretend.

Storybook sitting in her new room!

The color scheme of Storybook, now fits into the color scheme of the room.

Much better, really!

Hope you've enjoyed watching this cute little cottage come to life (and it's redo)
...always more too think up, more too make, more too share...

I'm gonna make a little kitchen cottage next.....
stay tuned!

MINI: Peeking inside Storybook

Wanna see inside Storybook?
She's not finished, but I think done enough to give you a sneak peek.

Here we are looking from the outside in through the picture window.... it's a little living room with a loft library upstairs.
I think there might be a party going on....but, haven't decided what kind of party it will be.
So, I'll think more about that as I share what I have finished so far.

It took me the longest time to figure out what the color scheme would be.
Walking by the scrapbook section at the craft store, one piece of paper caught my eye and the "inspiration" decision was made.
 Whew!

Then it was time to head to the fabric section and coordinate the color scheme.
I haven't finished (or started) the pillows....all the fabric is just wrapped around the forms...I'm way to anxious to see what everything will look like.
  Do you do that too?

The top picture behind the little ladder is the scrapbook paper cut and framed.

The curtains caused me some grief!
Made them once, hung them up thinking I was finished....NOT!
So, today they came down and got "redone".
Much better!

The wicker furniture I've had for years....it never really had a perfect home until it found it's way into Storybook.
I made the dresser (a kit) eons ago...and, guess what?
It fits like a glove in it's new home.
 Yippy!

The CHANDY was a challenge at first....then I got the hang of twisting and bending wire, stringing the beads for light (I'm pretending it works...hehehe), wrapping white paper to imitate the candle, draping the chain with hanging tear drop pearls.
The flowers were added to cover up all the "unsightly" wires.

I didn't address everything going on in the cottage....

If you have any questions, please ask away... I'm happy to share any of my ideas, tricks, mistakes, do's and don'ts...or successes!

It's all a learning process to be passed on.

Storybook is making me very happy....
once again,
it's....
HAPPY DANCE time.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit..... and a BIG THANK YOU to all my new followers!

Have a fantastic mini making week.

Living in a STORYBOOK world.....

Enjoying every minute of it!

It doesn't seem like it changes very much, but....as I revisit the pictures, I realize it changes daily, doesn't it?

So.....what is new?

More greenery added on both sides.  I don't think you have too much greenery, it just makes the little cottage come alive.
The overhang/awning is from a Starbucks cup wrap, recognize it?  Very cool...at least I think so.
First painted it white then aged it.

I aged everything today...seems to be my new thing.

Dunking my finger in brown paint, then rubbing it across the window casings, door trim, window boxes, awning....look out, if it's standing still it will get aged!

Went to a street faire in Pacific Grove this weekend....that's the town next door to Carmel and found a couple of sweet little "littles".

Is this little lantern the sweetest thing ever?
And, the watering can...out of sight in this picture....let's hope there is a shot in the up coming pictures.  lol

Wreath....well, that's metal and from my Scrapbook stash.
It got the paint finger treatment with a few different colors.
 Happy Dance.

Just more green!

Didn't get much done on the inside.... made the little walkway/library area (sorry it's so blurry), but I'll do better pictures when we get there.

Books, books and more books...concentrated on making a few more to make me think I've actually accomplished something.

All the white seems to wash out the picture...certainly can't be me?   lol

Oh, there's the watering can.... once again must apologize...I didn't get a good shot of it.
So many "littles" to try and photo shoot.
Pretty cute, huh?   What you can see.

I'm going to start working on the inside next....must get the library finished, so I might finish the backside of the roof.

OH MY.... still so much to do.

We still don't know what the inside is going to be.... any IDEAS?

Have a lovely evening my friends.....

I'm open for any suggestions.
